Welcome to Year 3 and 4! We are looking forward to a fantastic year with many interesting things happening. Watch this space for further updates.

Previously in Year 3 and 4…. What we got up to last year!
The Lion, the Witch, the Year 3s and 4s and the Wardrobe
The Year 3s and 4s slowly opened the wardrobe door. They pushed through the fur coats that hung by the entrance and noticed that the air was getting colder. The ground beneath their feet felt…. different. Softer some how. Glancing down, they noticed a blanket of white and around them a forest of snow covered trees.
This Term, Year 3 and 4 have been reading The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S Lewis.
To launch the book, we turned the gazebo into Narnia for the day and each class had the chance to experience stepping through the door into a magical world.

Cheddar Gorge
On the 18th May, Year 3 and 4 went on a visit to Cheddar Gorge and Caves in Somerset. We had a fantastic day exploring the caves and learning how to survive in the Stone Age. The Gorge and Caves were amazing and the children really impressed the tour guides with their knowledge of rocks.
‘Real-life Cave men’ taught the classes how Stone Age man would have made tools, hunted and even made rope.

Olympian Visit
Today Staverton had a visit from a real Olympic Athlete. Laura Deas, a Bronze medal winning Olympian in the sport of Skeleton visited the school. Before she gave a whole school assembly, she helped the children carry out their sponsored fitness circuits. The Year 3 and 4 children were amazing… and very tired by the end.
